Quilting

Hi, I am a quilter and i live in Hawaii, i have put in my request to show my interest in quilting for a meet up. i have been listed for about 3 months, and i have not gotten any response. so i thought i would try other sewing groups. is that acceptable? i would like to see and meet with other people that like to "sew" like in the old days when they use to be called quilting or sew bee's. everyone (women) in the community would get together and bring there own type of sewing.
